WELCOME HOME, NEIGHBOR.
A Community for Immigrants & Internationals in Shoreline, WA
OUR PURPOSE
We exist to meet the needs of our global neighbors.
The International Community Center (ICC) comes alongside new and long-term immigrants, including internationals, to offer holistic and faith-based services.
We believe our global neighbors should—not just feel welcomed in King County—but embraced, supported, and loved, so they can confidently re-establish their lives in their new country.
Immigrants and internationals are arriving to the Greater Seattle Area for a variety of reasons, yet many encounter similar difficulties.
Finding a place to live, getting a job, filling out legal paperwork, signing children up for school, navigating loss and loneliness… All of this while adjusting to a new language and culture. It can be overwhelming.
This is where the International Community Center steps in.
We come together to offer:
We offer free English Language Learning (ELL) led by Prof. Sharon Hamar of North Seattle University. Come learn English and make some new friends along the way.
Our community loves to gather together and celebrate with good food and company. Check out our events for upcoming potlucks, baby showers, Iftar dinners, field trips and more!
We’ve created a hub of resources for our immigrant and international friends. If you’re settling into Shoreline, WA, check out this list of resources and let us know if there is anything else you need help with.
Get Involved
-
Become a financial partner with a one-time gift or by giving monthly. This money is used to directly fund the needs that rise up within our community. When you give, you are alleviating the financial and emotional burden we see so many families and students face when arriving to our country.
-
Commit to praying for the ICC needs on a specific day of the week.
-
We have various volunteer opportunities — both in type and frequency. Please contact us to learn more about what positions we have available. Whether it’s an occasional extra hand or a weekly commitment, we’d love to hear from you!
-
A friend to the ICC is someone our team can personally call on to help in a variety of ways, especially with immediate financial or practical needs.
We are also looking for people who are ready to open their hearts and/or homes to new families or students. If this is something you’re interested in, please reach out to us so we can setup a call or meeting to get to know you.
-
This private Facebook page was created for sharing updates, prayer requests, as well as practical needs that come up (e.g. a vacuum cleaner for a new family, help covering dental cost, etc.)
You can request to join by contacting our team.
